Prayer for PEACE (TRANSCRIPT)
Dear Friends, I bring to you greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today we are going to be saying a prayer of peace, but before then, I would like to tell you the essence of peace in our lives. Peace is often underestimated, and sometimes mistaken for worldly pleasures.
As a believer, peace is our right, but we are often so overwhelmed with the worries, stress, burdens and frustrations of this world. I want you to know today that we serve a God who is the Prince and source of all Peace according to the scriptures in Isaiah 9:6.
In order for us to wholly experience the kind of peace that God brings, let us boldly come to the throne of grace, that we might obtain mercy. Take a song of worship as we prepare to pray. In the stillness of our hearts, let us connect to God, worship him and reverence him for he alone is God, all by Himself. He alone can give us that peace we so desire.
PRAYER
Father, we release to you all the pain that we have been carrying, all the weight of unforgiveness and we ask oh Lord that you help us to forgive as many who have hurt us. And that as for others whom we have hurt, we ask that you will minister also to their hearts and help them to forgive us. Father, today we ask that you will bring to pass for us, all the promises of peace in your word.
Give us peace at all times in every way. For those situations contending with our peace, we declare an end to them. We therefore receive your presence and peace which overcomes the tribulations of this world. We confess that we cannot bear our cares, like you would. So we surrender, fully, wholly, completely and totally unto you. And today we declare that our feet are set on the foundations of peace.
All these we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
